A nanny’s job is much more than the sum of her daily tasks. A nanny must be reliable, trustworthy, patient and loving. She needs to be a person the parents feel completely comfortable leaving their precious children with. She should also be active, creative, enthusiastic and interact well with children of all ages. A nanny is responsible for your child’s safety, development and well-being when you are not at home and will care for them as required.

A nanny’s normal day to day duties include the complete care of the children and:

  • Changing diapers and potty training
  • The children’s laundry
  • Keeping the children’s rooms clean and tidy and organizing when necessary
  • Planning and preparing the children’s meals and possible grocery shopping if needed
  • The stimulation of the child in play to ensure good development
  • The promotion of the children’s health
  • Reading to the children
  • Administering medication with the parents’ consent
  • Maintaining daily logs for the parents if needed
  • Arranging playdates and outings
  • Indoor and outdoor play
  • School drop off/pick up
  • Driving to activities or doctor appointments
  • Light housekeeping

Light housekeeping chores may consist of grocery shopping, family errands, emptying the trash, the children’s laundry, and keeping the kitchen and kids’ areas clean and organized.

Nannies are responsible for everything relating to the children, such as dressing, bathing and preparing nutritious meals for the children, organizing their playdates and outings and supervising and assisting with homework. The Nanny will be expected to create a safe environment in which to develop your children to their full potential.

Currently, we are only working with full-time placements. You must be willing to pay a minimum of $25/hour. However, current rates for professional nannies are between $30–$35+ per hour. Nannies are paid 52 weeks per year. If your nanny is available to work but you do not require their services, they should still be paid their normal wages.

  • You must be willing to pay your nanny legally.
  • You must offer typical nanny standard benefits— guaranteed hours, paid vacation, paid holidays, sick days, and mileage reimbursement. (We will help you draft a contract that includes all of this.)

We require our nannies to be legally employed, submit a W2, and be paid on payroll. We handle this for you using GTM and HomeWork Solutions. Nannies are professionals, and we treat their employment with respect and do all our work legally.

We partner with the 2 most reputable domestic payroll companies and invite you to read about them by clicking below.

We expect our full-time families to offer:

2-4 Weeks Paid Vacation
8-10 Paid Holidays
3-5 Paid Sick Days
Health Insurance Stipend (Optional)
Mileage Reimbursement (While on the job)

Nannies are household employees and must be paid per hours. Overtime laws occur for every hour worked over 9 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Overtime rates are time and a half of your nannies hourly rate. If you go through one of our payroll companies mentioned above, they will make sure to take care of this and pay your nanny accordingly.

Guaranteed hours are specific hours that you guarantee that your nanny will be paid for, so she can rely on a constant paycheck. For example, if you guarantee that your nanny can work 40 hours per week with your family, but sometimes you don’t need her for all those hours, you still must pau her for those hours worked, regardless if she works them or not. The guaranteed hours benefit kicks in when the nanny is willing and able to work, yet the family for any reason decides that their services are not needed.

Absolutely! This falls under guaranteed pay. Nannies are paid their same weekly hours, 52 weeks per year despite their employer’s schedule. If you were to give your nanny an extra day off, take an extra week vacation, or even let her go home a few hours early, the nanny will still be required to be paid their minimum guaranteed hours.

A nanny’s normal day to day duties include light housekeeping. Light housekeeping chores are consisted of child-related duties only. This may include grocery shopping, emptying the trash, the children’s laundry, and keeping the kids’ areas clean and organized. If you are needing other housekeeping duties, you may want to consider hiring a separate housecleaner.

In order to do our due diligence, Nanny Placement can take 4-8 weeks. We promise, it’s well worth the wait. Unfortunately, there is a nanny shortage across the USA right now. We have been in the nanny industry for over 19 years and have many connections across the world, however, we cannot guarantee how many candidates will apply for your position and how qualified they may be. We have a thorough, in-depth screening process and it is a very low percentage who actually makes it through as we only want to represent the best! We will work hard to provide 2-3 solid candidates that you will be able to interview. To make this process go by faster, please review profiles and set up interviews within 24 hours. Offer trial days within 48 hours or less. Our nannies are actively looking for work and we would hate for you to lose out on one of our amazing candidates if they were to get offered a job elsewhere.

Our nanny placement fees are split into two separate fees. There is a non-refundable $299 engagement fee in order to start our search. This allows us to conduct your nanny search by sorting through resumes, interviewing, screening and creating profiles for top candidates. Once your nanny accepts your job offer, we can legally run her background check and the remainder of the placement fee is due at this time. We require 15% of the nannies annual compensation and it is due before the first day of work. If you do not end up hiring one of our nannies, you are not required to pay any additional fees after the engagement fee of $299.

We offer a free replacement within the first 90 days. You will also receive a one-year guarantee. If your nanny ends up not working out in the first year of employment, we will replace them at a pro-rata rate. You are not required to pay a new engagement fee of $299 unless there has been changes in the original job description.

The more information you give us, the better we can do to match you with the perfect nanny.

Communicate with the agency and nanny, always. Communication is the number one key!

Suggested time frame for success: Review profiles and set up interviews within 24 hours. Offer trial days within 48 hours or less. Our nannies are actively looking for work and we would hate for you to lose out on one of our amazing candidates if they were to get offered a job elsewhere.

An agreement between you and your nanny is extremely crucial. Be sure to go over each detail so you both understand what is expected. It can also be used as a point of reference if any complications come up in the future.
